Shallow breathing is one of the most common problems in modern society. Our fast and busy lifestyles provoke a perpetual release of adrenalin into the body to keep us going. This maintains a constant &rlsquo;fight or flight’ state, encouraging shallow breathing and which has become a chronic problem amongst many.

The significance of shallow breathing is overlooked, as to how this affects the body and mind in various ways. Most importantly perhaps, certainly a concern in our current global state, is the diminished effectiveness of the immune system due to reduced oxygen intake and poor distribution around the body.

This will explore how to shift the habitual shallow breath, returning to its natural place in the body, enabling you to breathe easy, more fully and consciously. Once understanding the technical aspects of the breath, you will have the opportunity to breathe effectively and consciously drawing upon pranic energy (life force) in a movement based yoga practice, and leave the workshop fully charged, aware and empowered.
